GoDaddy Acquires Marketplace Startup Elto
Godaddy has acquired a San Francisco-based startup, Elto.
“For us, this is an opportunity to reach a bigger scale – 12 million customers versus 25,000 – it’s a completely different beast,” said Dwyer.
Godaddy went public on April 01, raising not less than $460 million and selling shares at $20 apiece.
GoDaddy has around 12 million small businesses in their customer base while the total comes around to 13 million.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Elto was founded in 2012 by P.J. Murray and Ned Dwyer.Elto had been offering a marketplace that helped to connect business owners and other non-technical people to web developers who would help them establish and improve their web presence.
GoDaddy is a publicly traded Internet domain registrar and web hosting company.It was founded by Bob Parsons, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
