Apple is planning to add shape-shifting abilities to its Magic Mouse.
A mouse is an important input device for the computer. Many people need to use it for a long time. But currently it is not ergonomic. Because it is not specific to the users’ hand size.
According to a new patent granted to Apple by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Apple is planning for changing Mouse’s physical proportions to make itself more comfortable to hold in the user’s hand for long periods of time.
The Patent with the title “Mouse having a shape-changing enclosure” is describing Systems and methods for changing the shape of a mouse or other input device. In one embodiment, a mouse includes an articulating member that defines a curvature of an exterior surface of the mouse. The mouse may include one or more actuators for manipulating the articulating member to change the contour of the exterior surface of the mouse. The curvature may be changed to optimize the ergonomics of the mouse and/or deliver tactile feedback to users.
As the height and width of Mouse can be adjusted according to the users, it will be more convenient to the users for long time use and for different purposes.
