WalmartLabs has acquired Luvocracy, a social marketplace startup based in Silicon Valley.
“we’re acquiring Luvocracy, an online community that helps people discover cool products recommended by people whose taste they trust, such as family members, friends and online influencers”,Ben Galbraith Walmart said.
“We’re incredibly eager to take our learnings and discovery-based shopping experience to an audience of over 140 million weekly shoppers online and in-stores at Walmart”,Luvocracy said in a blogpost..
Luvocracy’s 16 team members are joining to Walmart.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Luvocracy was founded in 2011 by Stoll.It was one of a host of startups attempting to make online shopping a more social experience.
